Electronics & e-waste

Electronics carry two kinds of risk at once: what is on the drive, and where the hardware ends up afterwards. Both are answered by the same thing, which is knowing exactly which facility received the material and what it did with it.

Where it can go

Evaluated in order,
best outlet first

Each route below is assessed and ruled out before the next is considered. Disposal is what remains after that, not where the conversation starts.

01

Resale and redeployment

Working equipment refurbished and resold or redeployed, after data destruction. The highest-value outcome and the first one evaluated.

02

Component harvest

Serviceable components recovered from equipment that cannot be resold whole.

03

Certified recycling

De-manufacture and materials recovery through recyclers holding recognized certification, with the downstream chain confirmed.

04

Last resort

Residual fractions with no recovery route handled as waste, documented accordingly.

What KODA handles

Coordinated end to end

The outlet is chosen on the material's merits, not on what is convenient. Every option is weighed against what the stream actually is, what it is worth and what documentation it has to produce — and the reasoning is shown to you, not summarized.

  • Asset inventory and serialized tracking
  • Data destruction to your standard, with records returned per asset
  • Recycler certification and downstream chain verification
  • Palletizing, packaging and secure transport coordination
  • Recovery and destruction documentation for audit files

Common in

Who generates this stream

Manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, government, education, retail and commercial offices.

One stream is a complete engagementThis can be handled on its own, at one site, with no requirement to move anything else to KODA. It can also run as part of a full portfolio. The scope is yours to set and can change in either direction.

Questions

Electronics & e-waste, in practice

How is data handled?

Destruction is performed to the standard you specify, and records are returned at the asset level so your IT and audit files can account for every serial number.

Can equipment with resale value offset the cost?

Sometimes. Where equipment is recent enough to hold value, resale is evaluated first and the proceeds are reported to you. Whether that offsets the program depends entirely on what the equipment is.

How do we know where the material actually ends up?

We confirm the downstream chain rather than taking a collector's word for it, and name the receiving facilities. That verification is the point of the service.

Start with the material,
not the invoice

Every engagement begins with a KODA Operational Review™ — a structured evaluation of your facility, materials, vendors and compliance requirements. Recommendations come from that data.
