Airline miles
Hero Miles runs on donated frequent flyer miles. If you carry a balance you will never use, it converts directly into a seat for a service member or their family.
A cause we support
When a service member is wounded, injured or falls seriously ill, their family often has to get to a military or VA medical center and stay there for weeks or months. Fisher House Foundation makes that possible, and makes it free.
What they do
Keeping families together, and close by, while someone they love is being treated.
Homes built beside military and VA medical centers where families stay while their service member is treated. Fisher House calls them a home away from home. There is no room fee at the VA houses, and the Foundation pays the room fees at the Army, Navy and Air Force houses.
Donated frequent flyer miles turned into round-trip airline tickets, so wounded, injured and ill service members can travel home during treatment, and so their families can reach them. Fisher House has run the program since 2005.
Hotel rooms for families when the nearest Fisher House is full or there is not one at that medical center. Funded by donated hotel points and by cash donations.
Scholarships for military children, the Heroes’ Legacy program for children of fallen and disabled service members, and a military spouse scholarship run with the National Military Family Association.
Why this one
David Davis spent more than two decades in the United States Air Force. He has seen what happens to a family when someone is hurt a long way from home, and what the difference is between a family that can be at the bedside and one that cannot afford to be.
KODA has no formal relationship with Fisher House Foundation and is not endorsed by them. We simply think the work is worth supporting, and worth pointing people toward.
Your donation does not come to usEvery link on this page goes straight to Fisher House Foundation. KODA does not collect, hold, process or receive any part of a donation, takes no fee and no percentage, and runs no collection on their behalf. We are not asking you to buy anything.
